About Effecon
Effecon builds software-first robotics systems for real industrial environments. We focus on practical automation using modern perception, simulation, and motion planning. We work closely with industrial customers to turn complex robotics technology into usable, scalable solutions. 

The Role
This is not a traditional sales internship and not a closing role. You will work directly with the Business Development Lead and founder(s) on building and improving our outbound sales engine. The focus is on lead generation, market segmentation, and outreach systems, hence not just executing tasks, but helping structure how we approach the market. Your work will directly influence how we identify opportunities, position our product, and scale our sales efforts. 

What You Will Do 

  • Lead generation & market structuring: 
    • Identify and segment target markets, industries, and customer profiles 
    • Research and qualify companies and decision-makers 
    • Refine Ideal Customer Profiles (ICPs) 
  • Outbound & messaging: 
    • Support and improve outbound outreach via email, LinkedIn, and CRM tools 
    • Develop and test messaging, conversation starters, and outreach flows 
    • Iterate based on response rates and feedback 
  • Systems & tools: 
    • Build and maintain structured lead lists and CRM pipelines 
    • Improve CRM hygiene and workflows 
    • Explore tools and methods to scale lead generation efficiently 
  • Customer insight: 
    • Capture objections, feedback, and recurring patterns 
    • Translate market feedback into actionable insights for product and sales strategy 
  • Sales support: 
    • Coordinate intro calls, follow-ups, and meeting preparation 
    • Support preparation of pitch materials and demos 

What You Will NOT Do 

  • Own revenue targets or quotas 
  • Negotiate contracts or close deals 
  • Run partnerships or customer accounts independently 

What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who enjoys structured problem-solving, communication, and building systems, not just executing tasks. 

  • Currently enrolled in: 
    • Business Engineering/Handelsingenieur,  
    • Economics or Applied Economics (with analytical focus) 
    • Engineering (with an interest in business / startups) 
    • Business Analytics, Data or related fields 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (English is required; Dutch/French is a plus) 
  • Comfortable with outreach and professional communication 
  • Structured, organized, and detail-oriented  
  • Proactive and comfortable working with ambiguity 
  • Interest in technology, startups, and B2B environments 

Strong plus (not required): 

  • Interest in go-to-market, growth, or sales strategy 
  • Experience with outreach, CRM tools, or lead generation 
  • Involvement in student consulting, entrepreneurship, or startup environments 
  • Exposure to B2B sales, SaaS, or industrial markets 
  • Curiosity about robotics, automation, or industrial technology
